Leung Mee Ping

Giormani works with the artist, Leung Mee Ping, to launch the installation art exhibition of ‘Room 7, Block G, Mini House’. With the ‘Home’ as the theme and sofas as the lead-in, the mini house guides the visitors to imagine and understand the furniture and home décor of Hong Kong and introspect their own view on the home.   

Collaborative Designer Profile:   

Hong Kong based artist. Studied from France to America then to Hong Kong, Leung Mee-ping has dedicated on art and local cultural studies. She considerate the importance of creativity originating with daily culture profoundly that provides her conceptual perspective. Her creative practicing includes installation, mix-media, public art and community art, etc. Through research-based practicing proceed experimental interaction and integration, her works can integrate elements and platforms of theatre, design, commercial space and social space, in order to extend performance or action; those can be read as issue-based creativity. Her works concern the ethic, community and memories of the human living situation which closely intertwined with her theory research area of visual culture and globalization. She is assistant professor of art creativity at the Academy of Visual Arts, Hong Kong Baptist University.
